Touchtel slashes ILD rates

Touchtel, a private fixed line service provider from Bharti Telenet Ltd, has announced reduced International Long Distance (ILD) tariffs for its subscribers. With this announcement, the Touchtel subscribers will be able to make calls to anywhere in the world @ Rs 15.99 per minute as against a maximum of Rs 24 during peak hours on weekdays.

On weekends subscribers can call up US and Canada at Rs 9.99 per minute, UK / Europe/Singapore at Rs 11.99 per minute and United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for Rs 13.99 per minute. This offers subscriber's savings up to 58 percent or in other words up to 58 percent more talk time for same budgeted amount.

In addition, for every 10 minutes of International calls received Touchtel subscribers will be able to make two minutes of free ISD calls worth Rs 31.98. The reduced tariffs have been introduced as a limited time offer till August 31, on select Touchtel tariff plans. This offer is not applicable with standard TRAI and Talk 250/180 plans.

According to Rajiv Kohli, CEO, (Northern Region), Touchtel, "We have today taken a lead in introducing the most competitive international long distance tariffs on fixed line. Our customers will be benefited because of low rates and an offer of free ISD talk time, on receiving international calls. This saving on international calls will make long distance calling on fixed line affordable and reverse the trend in international calling in India. These initiatives further reinforce our promise of delivering the best value in the market".
