Tibco Software Inc, one of the largest independent business integration
software companies, said that its global offshoring development center located
in Pune would start designing and developing products from scratch.
Ram Menon, Senior Vice President, and Worldwide Marketing, Tibco Software,
said, "Tibco follows a customer-driven R&D pattern and engineers
interact with customers as they deploy products The Pune center is a seamless
center and engineers have started deploying products."
Traditionally, a team of internal technical architects undertake the initial
deployment of the product while the rest is outsourced to consulting partners
like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Deliotte & Touche, etc.
According to Ram, that Indian engineers have started deploying products, the
organic part of these customer interactions would result in analytically and
methodically building IP's befitting customer's requirements.
"Leveraging on the cost arbitrage coupled with building sustainable IP
is a perfectly wedded business model," Ram added.
Tibco's Pune center, set up in 2004, has around 60 high-end engineering
workforce. The company intends to ramp it up further to 200 by this year-end.
