Computer Association of Eastern India (Compass) successfully concluded its 15th IT expo on May 7 at Milan Mela after registering an estimated footfall of atleast 50000 visitors and subsequently other eastern IT associations stepping in the expo.

"The focus this year was over quality crowd so that participants can have major leads. Apart from showcasing products and offering schemes, the prime consideration was over the corporate sector which is poised to contribute significantly to sales", said Pawan Jajodia, chairman - expo committee, Compass.

Also, Jajodia claimed to have broken previous records set in the last 15 years in terms of participation, actual crowd pull resulting in good turnout and generating a contended feeling amidst the participants.

"This year, we have overdone all our previous achievements and braved the dampened market with the expo. Only people interested in buying goods stepped in the fair which made good business sense", Jajodia added.

With the success of the 15th IT Fair, Compass has been quick enough to schedule the dates for the next expo finalising the dates from December 20 to 23 in 2013.

Commenting over the huge gap of 1 and ½ years thereby generated as for the new expo schedule, Jajodia stated, "Only one expo can take place in a FY. Next year, we have scheduled it in winter as that season will be comfortable for the visitors and there won't be the scorching heat which we have seen at the new venue".

This year, the expo was spread across 3 exhibition areas instead of a concentrated display area comprising of 3 subsequent halls each having its own pavilions and stall spaces.
