In the land of one of the seven wonders-Agra, The DQ Week organized its second season of ‘Tech Caravan' where various stakeholders of IT channel community and at least one technology pioneer exchanged ideas on cloud computing.

Microsoft, our sponsor, as well as propagator of cloud computing in this event-software as a service-explored the possibilities of Office 365 business.

Ashutosh Pal, cloud relationship manager, Microsoft gave examples of optimizing one's time and extended this concept to the efficiency drawn by using Office 365.

MS Office 365, a cloud based productivity solution, has essentially four components under it: MS Exchange, Office, Lync Online, and SharePoint. It is cloud based architecture; has geographical redundant data centers, multi-device and mutli-platform access, market accepted solutions, free upgrades and most importantly 99.9% financially-backed SLA.

Starting with the benefits of cloud over on-premise solution, Pal said that on-premise solutions have high capital expenditure, service unavailability during migrations, lack of trained manpower, lack of best practices and no free upgrades. On the contrary, Pal said, cloud comes as pay-per-use model as well as with free upgrades.

Lastly, explaining to the partners its benefits, he ensured them of high margins. Pal also explained of an advisor program where a partner may work as an advisor without investing and still earn.
