The DQ Week awards, which honor the IT reseller's community and
praise those who excel
in this industry. At the href="https://www.dqweek.com/the-dq-week-awards-eastern-jubilee">13th
DQ Week Awards, channel
partners across South India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh,
Kerala) were awarded under different categories at the Chancery
Pavilion, Bengaluru on August 10, 2011.

Every year the awards are
decided by an independent jury, comprising eminent personalities of
the IT industry, who are closely aligned with the channels partners.
The DQ Week awarded 59 winners from different categories such as best
sub-distributor, reseller, and retailer etc on certain parameters
(see box). The evening wore a celebratory environment with 250
channel partners boasting their presence. The chief guest for the
event Pradeep Singh Kharola, commercial tax commissioner, Government
of Karnataka addressed the gathering on taxation-related problems and
explained how upcoming goods and services tax (GST) can benefit
channel partners.

This was followed by a
presentation by the platinum sponsor, EMC. While addressing the
gathering, Sanjeev Wad, regional sales director, EMC, South India and
Sri Lanka informed channel partners how they can
leverage on technologies like cloud computing and virtualization with
EMC. This year, DQ Week
incorporated a new category for the best IT association. On the basis
of a recently conducted survey by The DQWeek-CyberMedia Research,
Kerala-based, All Kerala Information Technology Dealers Association
(AKITDA) bagged this prestigious award.

Speaking on this occasion,
Suresh PG, immediate past president, AKITDA shared how AKITDA works
in Kerala, the unity among the association members and how the
association settled warranty replacement-related issues with vendors
like Toshiba, Intel, Hitachi and Seagate. He added that if the
association announces a ban for a particular channel partner for
misconduct, then it is duly followed all over Kerala. This was
followed by a presentation from the partner association for the
event, Bengaluru-based, Association of Information Technology Dealers
(AIT). Sridhar, president, AIT updated the gathering on its upcoming
'Health Day' program and also shared the achievements of AIT. The
event concluded with the vote of thanks from Ibrahim Ahmad, group
editor, CyberMedia. He congratulated all the award winners for their
good work and wished well for all the channel partners for their
future endeavors.
