It was an evening that the channel partners across eastern India will savour for the rest of the year. In a colossal event awarding the channel partners in the east for outstanding performance in FY11-12, The DQ Week hosted the 14th Premier Partner League Awards in Kolkata on July 20.

Formerly known as The Annual DQ Week Awards, the event was graced by more than 180 channel partners from across east, with the set of awards spread across 34 different categories encompassing 12 states in the east.

Every year, the DQ Week annual awards are decided by an independent jury which comprises eminent personalities in the IT industry, who are closely aligned with the channels. The awards are given after a long process of discussion and deliberation amongst the jury members with the panel shortlisting candidates based on certain parameters.

In the 14th DQ Week Awards, channel partners from the entire eastern region encompassing Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and the north-eastern states were evaluated and presented with the honorific award based on their performance as well as reputation and several other parameters. The award categories comprised different categories ranging from the Best Channel Partner, Best System Integrator, Best Reseller, Best Sub-Distributor and many more.

Digisol, BPE, Uniline, Cyberoam NetGenie, Trend Micro and Rashi Peripherals were partners for the award function. The association partner for the occasion was Kolkata based Compass.

The evening kicked off with the opening remarks of Rajneesh De, Editor of DQ Channels and The DQ Week. While welcoming the gathering, he also elaborated upon the change in the new branding of the awards and introduction of new categories in the awards. He also touched upon the recent initiatives undertaken by The DQ Week.

This year, The DQ Week organized a Fire-Side chat with the discussion topic being the sensitised issue of parallel imports and effects on the IT industry.

Also, in the PPL Awards, based on the Channel Association Survey conducted jointly by DQ Channels and CyberMedia Research, Compass was felicitated at the award ceremony as the Best Channel Association - East. It also needs to be emphasised that Compass had ranked 3rd at the pan India level in the same survey.
