In a move to diversify its business and handle both volume and value
products, Texonic Instruments, a leading networking solution provider, has added
up LITEON range of optical drives as its distributor for Tamil Nadu and
Pondicherry region. This is the first time Texonic is getting into volume
business, while D-Link motherboard is more of an extension of its tie-up with
the principal company.
"LITEON is a leading global brand and OEM supplier to many multinational
companies. LITEON products are known for their quality and they are quite strong
in DVD technology solution. We are confident of this new tie-up which will
increase our business manifold," said Nitesh Bhandari, Director, Texonic.
LITEON is exclusively distributed in India by Mediatech while Texonic has signed
up with them for this region.
"As DVD is the future, our main focus would be here and we will market
the products only through authorized dealers. However, for CD-R and CD-RW, we
are planning to supply directly to the resellers," explained Bhandari. He
is betting big on DVD products and pointed out that during next year the price
difference bet-ween DVD and CD products will narrow down, which will help the
growth of DVDs in the market. Initially, the company plans to move 1,000 drives
per month. "Soon, LITEON is gett-ing into the media market too (CD and DVD
media)," he added.
In another development, Texonic has signed up with Bangalore-based Visesh Inc
for distributing AlphaShield Internet security product. Visesh is the exclusive
national distributor for Canada-based AlphaShield, while Texonic has been
appointed authorized distributor for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry markets. "AlphaShield
is a fool-proof system which offers high degree of network security and we are
targeting home and small office to promote this solution. It is priced at Rs
12,000 in the market and we are tying up with Dishnet and Bharti to bundle the
solution with their Internet service," disclosed Bhandari.
Texonic has recently had a tie-up with HCL Peripherals for promoting their
racks and accessories in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala. "This move is
to strengthen our offer and service in the market. Now, we are providing
end-to-end solution in the networking business," he commented. The company
has also added a new product–wireless antenna (RF antenna), under its own
brand name, which is being imported from Taiwan and sold in the market among
System Integrators for a price ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000.
"We want to grow Texonic as a multi-faceted company and all these new
tie-ups will help us in the activity," added Bhandari.
