Chennai-based Telescreen Communication, into supplying digital broadcast equipment, has tied up with US based Canopus Corporation to market its multi-layer Non-Linear digital video editing systems - DVRaptor RT, DVStorm and DVRexRT Professional. Canopus uses 'scalable technology' architecture based on a new concept of using the CPU and memory as supporting hardware for real time nonlinear editing.
For DVRaptor RT, Telescreen will move through dealers in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta whereas it will go for direct marketing for the high end products. It is looking to appoint 3-4 dealers in Chennai, three dealers in Mumbai, three in Delhi and two in Calcutta. It intends to conduct roadshows in Delhi, Calcutta, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to market its high-end products.
DV RexRT Professional, targeted at the professional studios into producing television serials, documentaries, telefilms etc and set to hit the market by July end, is priced at Rs 7 lakh. DVRaptor RT, compatible with all Windows platform and designed with scalable architecture, is priced at Rs 40,000. DVStorm, priced at Rs 3.25 lakh, is for professional videographers, documentary filmmakers, cable TV operators and educational institutions to use it as visual aids.
"We are looking at somewhere close to $1 million sales of these products this fiscal year itself," said Ravichandran, Managing Director,
Telescreen.
The post-production services in the broadcasting technology industry is pegged somewhere between $12-14 million.
