Shedding away the tag of being restricted to a region, Technocrat has forayed
into national distribution space with their business venture with A-Data. “Last
December, we struck a deal with A-Data for distributing their products across
the nation. February onwards, we have been distributing A-Data USB drives
nationally especially focussing on the East”, said Asif Khan, Joint Director,
Technocrat.

Technocrat has been looking for venturing into national distribution for
quite some time, waiting for the right opportunity and the right vendor. A-Data
entered the Indian market last year and with their range of USB drives, the
vendor along with its distributor is hopeful of its success. “A-Data products
are of good reputation and the company is the second largest in the world in USB
drive space”, Khan claimed.

“Technocrat has strong presence in the East and we have expanded in the
North. Also, by August-end we will be having presence in Mumbai and by the
year-end we will be covering Chennai too, concluding our national presence”,
Khan added.

Technocrat is distributing the products through its branches in the East and
has appointed CNS agents where the company is not in place yet. In this
endeavour, Technocrat is looking for partners across the nation for A-Data.

Speaking about the decision to move to national distribution, Khan said, “We
have 15 years of experience in the channel space and were looking for a national
venture. The USB market in India is flooded with products of just two big
vendors, where competition will be tough. However, I am sure of its success as
we are focussing on strengthening our channel base across India”.

The company in order to popularise the USB drive is focussing on aggressive
marketing techniques and will be holding road-shows, product promotion and
dealer promotions.

We will be catering to northern states including Rajastan, Haryana, Punjab
and Uttar Pradesh through our Delhi office and may go for regional offices for
western and southern regions. For the time being though we are operating through
our CNS agents. However, East remains our stronghold and distribution here is
centred regionally apart from Orissa and Northeast,” Khan concluded.
