In order to give their customers an insight into the working of Windows 7,
Techgyan, Microsoft certified technology partner held a conference recently to
coincide with the launch of the operating system. The conference witnessed
participation from over 20 end-customers, SMB's that typically have 10-300
installed base of PC.
The event began with a brief presentation wherein the customers were briefed
about the features of Windows 7. During the presentation Suresh Ramani,
Proprietor Techgyan elaborated on the reasons that made Windows XP popular even
while Windows Vista was not received well by the users.
Sharing his views further, Ramani stated, “Windows XP was certainly a success
but the way people work today is different. It's time to look beyond XP since
the cybercriminals are getting sophisticated. Again 90 percent of the users who
had bought Vista had downgraded to XP since its failed to meet their expectation
in terms of software capability.”
The above presentation was followed by yet another presentation by Manoj
Rathor, a technology specialist from Microsoft during which the users were
provided information about the technological aspects of the Professional edition
of the operating system.
Added Ramani, “The reason we paid heed to professional edition was because
SMBs will largely require this edition to meet their business requirements.
There are various editions of Windows 7 available in the market and very few
will opt for the Enterprise and Ultimate editions of Windows 7.”
During the presentation, the customers enjoyed a live demo in terms of the
usage of the operating system. Some of the features that were widely appreciated
by the users included irritating pop-ups, action center, problem step recorder,
remote desktop host and advanced back- up features among others.
