Techcom ventures into the mobile handset market

India, one of the

leading IT peripherals and consumer electronics brands in India, has

launched a bouquet of seven mobile handsets in the gracious presence

of Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. The company's handsets, namely

T21, T31, T33, T51, T55, T60 and TQ21, are specifically designed for

the masses in the urban and semi-urban areas and fall under the price

range of Rs 1,500-4,000. Techcom is also planning to invest around Rs

100 crore for the brand building of the product and is targeting two

to three percent market share by December 2011.

Speaking at the event,

said, “Having

being present in the industry from the last one decade, we are now

taking a step further in the mobile handset market. We are obliged to

add this product into our portfolio and want to make Techcom one of

the most sought-after brands in India. We will also announce various

promotional offers in the next six months for its brand building.”

Techcom's new handsets

are in sync with the company's history of innovation and commitment

towards bringing affordable quality products to life. Techcom's

handsets symbolize our pioneering technological advancement and

continued focus on R&D, which proves to be revolutionary in

enhancing the mobile user experience,” Kedia further added. The

company has around 100 distributors, through which it conducts

business, and is aiming to increase it to 300 in the next six months.

Sonali Bendre, while

attending the event said, “I am here to wish all the best to

Techchom for the launch of these attractive mobile handsets. I am

completely blown over by its interesting feature of 3-hour movie play

and affordable prices.” The new mobile phones have some more

interesting features, like dual SIM facility, Bluetooth, MP4/3GP, 8GB

external memory support, FM Radio and personal data security. The

future range of these

mobile handsets will include features like full touchscreen phone,

Qwerty phone with Edge and Wi-Fi, 3G handsets, CDMA, Smart and triple

SIM phones. Techcom has done extensive R&D and consumer analysis

for the last six months to introduce these affordable mobile

handsets.
