The DQ Week-Tech Caravan in association with Ahmedabad Computer Merchants Association (ACMA) conducted a regional meet in Ahmedabad. ACMA is the largest ICT association of Gujarat with almost 400 registered members. Various channel partners from across Ahmedabad participated in this event.
The ACMA-DQ Week Tech Caravan meet was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Sarovar Portico in the old city region of Ahmedabad. This event offered a go-to-market platform for vendors to venture into the upcountry territories with their product offering and interact with the channel communities of these areas. The central theme was to initiate a dialogue between the vendors and the channel community.
The evening started with a presentation from ESET, wherein the company official informed the audience about the benefits of associating with them. Gaurav Bajaj, area sales manager, ESET said, "We have a wide gamut of offerings covering length and breadth of the industry. We are looking at gaining positive mindshare amongst the partner community while at the same time increase our marketshare in this region." He further explained at length about the company channel policies and offerings. Bajaj also discussed about the company's business model and various benefits partners can gain on different packages be it retail or commercial deployment.
Post ESET presenatation, the stage was taken over by Suneil Nevagi, director, Newton Software. This company was associating with Tech Caravan for the first time. Newton is a vendor focused in developing softwares for all verticals and over the years have garnered a rich domain experience primarily in civil engineering realty, e-learning, kiosk-based machines and estimation services.
Nevagi said, "There is tremendous opportunity in Gujarat especially with the boom in infrastructure. We also see significant market for security and e-learning products. Thus, such platforms are crucial for us to touch base with the partners and we are looking forward to establish good business relationships in this market."
Following this presentation, the center stage was handed over to ACMA' secretary Samir Chokshi. In his speech, he put forth ACMA's immediate future plans wherein he stated that the association is all geared to provide the right impetus for ICT business with a special focus on software business. Chokshi said, "In around Ahmedabad, there a huge opportunity in government, education and corporate verticals. The partners now need to gear up to tap these opportunities and also have to create the skill set required to sell specialized softwares too."
Towards the end of the event was the lucky draw sponsored by Rx Infotech which was also the branding partner, followed by dinner. For the event, ESET was the premium sponsor while Newton was the associate sponsor. The next event will be conducted at Coimbatore on March 6, 2012.
