TCCDA participates in registration awareness session

Twin city computer dealers association members has recently participated in the awareness program meet on Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012,conducted by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY) in association with Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) at the FAPCCI house on 23rd July 2013.

The clarification given by the D O E officials on the order issued are "The Bureau of Industry Standards Act(BIS)1986(63of1986)order called the electronics and information technology goods (requirements for compulsory registration),2012 is primarily aimed at the manufacturer of the goods which do not confirm to the specified standard prescribed by them. The traders/dealers are hereby authorised to sell only self -declared goods by the manufacturer which are confirming to the specified industry standard hereafter, as prescribed to I S (relevant Industry Standard mentioned in column(3) of the Schedule),as these Goods have undergone the registration process from the bureau." Other significant information disseminated was as the act came into force on 3rd July 2013,the goods manufactured after this date only come under the purview of this act. The Inventory carried does not attract the provisions of the said act.

"Hereafter, kindly insist on proper documentation from the distributors/manufacturers stating that the Goods procured from them comply with the Provisions of B I S Act 1986(63of1986)order called the electronics and information technology goods (requirements for compulsory registration),2012."
