Tata Indicom, India's telecom service provider

organized a unique 'Service Mela' exclusively for their pay telephone

booth (PTB) operators in Kolkata. Four Tata Indicom service vehicles, visited

the Tata Indicom PTB operators address their queries and complaints on the spot.

The service mela was held between Feb 28 to March 3, 2006

in Kolkata. The PTB operator would have to fill a redressal form known as the

Red Form that would categorically target the problem the operator is facing and

the marketing, sales or service teams traveling in the Tata Indicom Service

Vehicle will provide the solution.

Primary problems related to installation, spare parts of

printers or machines, extra glow signs etc would be solved instantly. In cases

where the problems cannot be solved on the spot, the representative will make a

note of it, escalate it and solve it at the earliest. The operators can also

purchase recharge vouchers on the spot.

the entire Kolkata region over a period of time. Tata Indicom believes it is the

operators.

Indicom realizes the need to encourage its PTB operators who have a deep rooted

trust in us. Thus, this exceptional initiative is an extension towards the

realization of that trust and a long lasting commitment of Tata Indicom

towards its valued customers. This service mela will not only help PTB operators

get support from our technical and marketing team but will also help them gain

benefits of a smooth operation.”
