Tamil Nadu VAOs go hi-tech

The Tamil Nadu government distributed a laptop, printer and a computer-training guide for all the Village Administrative Officers (VAO). This means, with a total cost of around Rs 22 crore and Rs 49 lakhs, the 7,787 VAOs in the state will have a laptop, a printer and a user guide.

The move aims to make the job simple for the VAOs and officers in the Hindu religious and charitable endowment department. It also hopes to make the governance easier at the ground level people.

The initiative is also expected to benefit the channel partners in Tamil Nadu as the service for the laptops and printers may come to them.
