Tamil Nadu associations gearing up for Confed summit

New executive committee members are also getting elected from the district associations

The annual summit of the Confederation of Information Technology Associations (Confed-ITA), an umbrella body of the associations in Tamil Nadu is going to be conducted in February 2012. Partners across the state have selected new office bearers for their respective district associations.

The executive members from the district associations will represent their respective associations in the Confed which has been a conglomeration of those members from the district associations. Even though the new team gets elected in February, they will take charge from April 1, 2012 and remain till March 31, 2013. The new team will have a president, VP, secretary, treasurer, two joint secretaries and advisors.

Apart from that there will be two executive committee members, elected by the members of the associations in Chennai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Kanyakumari, Karaikal, Karur, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Nagapatinam, Nagercoil, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Palani, Pollachi, Pudukottai, Salem, Tanjore, Theni, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvarur, Trichy, Tuticorin, Udumalpet and Vellore. Almost all the district associations has selected their EC members to represent their association in the Confed-ITA and the remaining few associations will elect their EC members before Pongal. According to sources, EC members will be the strong stakeholders. "The EC members for Confed will be selected only if the member should have worked as an EC member in their district association and should house all the necessary qualities so as to support the functioning of the Confed association," a source said.
