Tally to host 'Tally Mela' to educate on VAT

Tally solutions is conducting a host of "Tally Melas", across 10
cities around the country, in an effort educate the business community and
individuals on VAT compliance and implementation. The Tally Mela will have
senior chartered accountants and tax experts interacting with the public,
addressing all concerns and doubts on VAT as well as service tax and TDS.

The Tally Mela will start from March 25, 2005 and is expected to reach out to
approximately 10 lakh to 12 lakh end users across the country. The Tally Mela
2005 is scheduled at the following cities from March 25 to the April 3, 2005-Bangalore,
Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Delhi, Ahmedabad and
Kolkata. The Tally mela will held at Rani Meyyammai Hall in Chennai from March
25 to March 31, 2005.

According to the press release, the mela will be showcasing the simplicity
with which VAT compliance pro-cesses can be adopted. Users will also get a
chance to educate themselves on the simple solutions offered by Tally, to tackle
problems relating to VAT implementation and other accounting issues.

Starting April 1, 2005 VAT will be implemented across the cou-ntry and it has
raised concerns. To address these concerns, visitors to the Mela will be able to
interact with Chartered Accountants present at the "Tally Mela"; on
issues relating to VAT in addition to answering TDS and service tax related
queries. Members of trade associations, Government bod-ies and management
associa-tions will also be present and will be participating in the Mela.
