Take Solutions launches hub management product

Chennai-based supply chain enabler, Take Solutions, has launched the first of its suite of supply chain management applications, Take Hub, a browser based web centric product. 

The hub is the area where materials are received, stored, processed, value added and issued - where the aggregation and dissemination of inventory takes place. Take Hub, a product that takes care of this critical component of the supply chain, has a track and trace facility in terms of receipt, issue and store management. It optimizes resource allocation, does sales order processing/billing, value add process management, communication media handling, reverse logistics, contract management, multi-user handling capability, multi-location capability, expiry management, bar code handling, accounts receivables, payment and cheque inventory management.

It could be deployed on various platforms according to the nature and size of the users such as a Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), stand alone PCs or ASP mode for SMEs. It works on Windows 2000, but can be customized in less than a week without tinkering with the legacy systems of the clients.

Take Hub would cost upwards of Rs 5 lakh depending on the number of users it has. "Compared to our competition, the total cost of ownership for Take Hub is attractive as we offer more functions such as resource utilization, arrival management system, space utilization and product recall capability," said Srinivasan H R, Vision Holder, Take Solutions. 

R Ganesh, Knowledge Organization, Take Solutions, said that Take Hub improves the inventory by 10-15 percent, productivity by 20 percent and space utilization by 25 percent. 

The company has installed its product in four places, one each in Dubai and Singapore and two in India. Take Solutions has entered into alliances with a company each in the US and Singapore, countries, which it has identified as target markets abroad. It is targeting SMEs and super SMEs in the Rs 50 crore - Rs 350 crore bracket in India and $50 million- $100 million bracket abroad.

It intends to complete 30 installations in the first year, out of which it hopes that at least 10 would be overseas installations. Take aims to generate a turnover of Rs 5 crore in the first year and Rs 25 crore in the second year.
