The association has blocked 10 percent stalls for Bangladesh/Taiwan vendors
Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) is set for its annual expo
scheduled for March 11-15, 2005. "Ninety percent of the stalls have already
been booked," informed Neeraj Agrawal. He added, that the association has
intentionally withheld 10 percent of the stall space for outside vendors.
"We are working at getting some vendors from Bangladesh and Taiwan to
participate this year. So, we have deliberately blocked the space," said
Agrawal.
Compass is also in the process of freezing upon the sponsors and associate
sponsors this year. About a week from now publicity blitz will start. Apart from
releasing teaser ads in the local dailies the association will also publicize
the event through Red FM and a Tableau that will go around in Kolkata.
"Also, there will be hoardings across the city. The association is spending
Rs 25 lakh on the publicity," added Agrawal.
The expo will be held at Brigade Parade Grounds opposite Victoria Memorial.
Compass in the last quar-ter had organized two sales tax camps for the dealer
community. The response to these camps has prompted the association to think of
organizing more such activities, said Agrawal.
