Taiwan TFT production value exceeds Korea

According to an IEK research, Taiwan flat panel industry production value
exceeded NT$1 trillion in October, 2006. It is estimated that total production
value can reach NT$1.2845 trillion. Last year, Taiwan's large-size panel
shipment volume was more than Korea's. It is estimated that the large-size TFT
panel production value of Taiwan will exceed Korea again. Taiwan may become a
major panel supplier. Taiwans flat panel industry production value can reach
NT$1.2845 trillion with the growth of 32.1 percent. TFT panel industry
production would be accounted for NT$925 billion with growth of 31 percent.
According to the findings, Taiwan flat panel display industry will grow 15
percent every year. IEK also pointed out that large-size TFT panel production
value of Taiwan has reached NT$769.6 billion and accounted for 45.7 percent of
global large-size panel production value. Korea accounted

for 39.5 percent, and Japan for 10.8 percent. Taiwan's panel component industry
production value would reach NT$359.5 billion with growth of 35.1 percent over
the year 2006. The color filter production value accounted for NT$89.5 billion.
