Taiwan IT industry sets eyes on overseas locations for plants

In the past two years, Taiwan IT industry has not only
invested to set up plants in China but also transferred to Vietnam, Eastern
Europe, India, and South America. It is a crucial time for Taiwan IT industry,
which has prospered from manufacture to utilize global resources via
globalization. Tens years ago, some major Taiwan IT companies such as FIC and
Acer started to set up plants overseas. However, considering production cost and
political elements, China with the advantage of speaking same language became
the major location for Taiwan IT to set up plants. However, with the
appreciation of RMB and increasing labor cost, the advantage of low cost in
China did not exist. Moreover, when Taiwan IT over converged the production in
China, the production crisis should be clattered for most manufacturers.
Therefore, more Taiwan IT companies started to set up overseas plants in
Southeastern Asia and Eastern Europe for better production resources in these
couple years.
