Workshop being held after three years
Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT) has planned a
training work-shop on networking for its members after a span of three years, in
the month of June. TAIT conducted workshops on management for dealers alm-ost
three years back, but now, with the increasing interest and demand of Mumbai
dealers, the association has decided to take this step.
The workshop would concentr-ate on Wi-Fi tech-nology and
net-working vendors like Cisco would most probably be the active partici-pant at
the event. "It’s time dealers took care of their bottomlines and started
looking at new business opt-ions. There has been an increas-ing stagnancy in PC
business. Therefore, it was time to take up such a step. This is the reas-on we
thought of Wi-Fi, as it’s one of the upcoming busi-nesses for the future. All
the members will be invited and those interested would attend," said Anees
Khalfay, President, TAIT and a partner of Radiant Technologies.
TAIT has been always invo-lved in organizing product launches
and get-togethers for members, therefore this would be a change for TAIT and its
me-mbers. "Earlier, members have never shown interest in train-ing
workshops, which is the reason it was never conducted. But now, vendors and
channels have both changed their attitu-des. Therefore, there would be more of
such workshops con-ducted in the future. TAIT would not stop with this
seminar," said Praveen Dhoka, VP, TAIT and Proprietor of Ortek Computers.
TAIT also wants to increase its member base from 285 to at least
350. "We also want to include a lot of SIs in our asso-ciation, which would
happen eventually," added Khalfay.
