Mumbai based TAIT has launched its 6th edition of COM-IT 2013, which got to a great start with the inauguration ceremony being presided by a host of industry stalwarts. The expo was held from November 14th-17th at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Goregaon (E) in Mumbai.

Rushabh Shah, director and media spokesperson, TAIT said, "The exuberance and excitement amongst TAIT members was evident. Visitors queuing up at the registration counters is proof that people are interested in fresh technology. After the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, there were keynote speeches by the chief guests, Rajesh Agarwal and Dr Guann-Jyh Lee."

Rajesh Agarwal, IAS, IT secretary, Govt of Maharashtra spoke on the various initiatives of the Government including e-governance, security of various cities including Pune and Mumbai. He also encouraged the audience to explore and participate in various schemes of the state Govt. While, Dr. Guann-Jyh Lee, Executive Director of Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India spoke on various technological initiatives of Taiwanese companies. Accompanying him will be a high level delegation from TAITRA, Taiwan. He was also very excited that The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion is part of COM-IT. He urged the present members to visit the pavilion and experience first hand the various innovative products. He also reiterated the ongoing strategic relationship with TAIT will graduate to the next level.

Champakraj Gurjar, chairman, COM-IT stressed on the need for collaboration between TAITRA, TAIT and Govt of Maharashtra for manufacturing activities in the state. He also suggested that a single window of clearance will be helpful to hasten the process. He urged members to book their stall in advance for the next edition of the show to avoid disappointment.

It seems that the participation of the Taiwan Pavilion has added that extra flavor to this year's show. Adding to this, Shah said, "The sold out show held out lot of disappointment to companies who had not booked their stall earlier as there was no space available." He added further that contests, prizes and lucky draws are arranged at almost every half an hour and  special offers and discounts were offered which was well received by the visitors.

At the time of going to press, the awards for the Best Pavilion, Best Stall and the Most Innovative Stall were being judged by Mohan Datar, an eminent consultant.
