Mumbai-based A Plus Computers has allegedly not been paying their dues for
the past eight months. Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT), in an
e-mail sent to its members, has asked them to submit details of dues pending
with A Plus Computers. TAIT had sent the mail after receiving complaints from
several of its members. A Plus is owned by Mehul Gandhi, who is now said to be
operating from Dubai.
“This is with reference to information received at TAIT office from dealers
regarding outstanding dues of M/s A Plus Computers, Goregaon, (Mehul Gandhi). We
request all members to kindly send details of their outstanding dues as on date
from M/s A Plus Computers to TAIT office for further follow up,” read the e-mail
sent to the members.
When contacted, Pravin Dhoka, Spokesperson, TAIT confirmed that A Plus
Computers has not paying their dues for the past eight months. However, he
denied the possibility that A Plus was absconding with the money. “There might
be some problem with Mehul Gandhi,” said Dhoka. However, he was not able to tell
what the total amount of unpaid dues were. Despite several efforts from The DQ
Week to get in touch with Gandhi, he remained unavailable for any comments on
the issue. E-mails sent to him remained unanswered till the time of going to
press. The DQ Week also called Gandhi on his Dubai phone number, but he refused
to reply on phone, and did not reply on e-mails either.
It may be recalled that recently, ABS Systems had run away after defaulting
for Rs 2.5 crore. More than 30 resellers, who were waiting for their dues since
the past eight months had lost their money to the company.
