The Attachmate Group is a privately held enterprise software holding company with four principal holdings including Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE in a manner that supports both their tactical and strategic business requirements. In an interview with Venkatesh Swaminathan, country head, The Attachmate Group (TAG) where he focused on the importance of channel partners that is helping their business reach every minute corner of the nation, one significant factor worth noting was that he never mentioned then East zone as a separate distinct region with its own set of demands and expectations. Rather tech giants club Eastern region with the northern region. "We have had very large customers in the East and there is no dearth of potential in the East. However, what this region lacks is opportunities in terms of enterprise customers, manufacturing and BFSI. It has some very large customers but it is lagging on small and medium size. Perhaps that is the reason why MNCs do not invest as much in the East as they do in other regions of India," adds Swaminathan.

This year, TAG is planning to have resources in the East and even more headcounts in the form of partners in this neglected region. Finally, the more than three decade old giant is providing what is needed and was not lagging.
