Symantec-Veritas merger sealed

Symantec has emerged as the new software powerhouse with the

Symantec-Veritas merger deal, now officially concluded. With combined estimated

revenue of $ five billion in fiscal 2006, the new Symantec becomes the fourth

largest software company in the world.

Symantec can now boast of a combined strength in the domains of information

security and availability, data management, etc. Over the next few months the

company will chalk out its strategy for products, technology, marketing,

branding, channel partnerships, etc. It has also decided to continue with the

Veritas branding for some products.
