Symantec to reach better to users with core technologies

Gettting on a mode to reach out better to its customers, Symantec India is all gearing up to drive its India business with a focus on core technologies and subscription based services along with improving its presence in SMB and SME sector.

According to the Symantec 2011 State of Cloud Survey, 87% of respondents are confident that moving to the cloud will not impact or will actually improve their security. On the other hand, 82% of Indian organizations have adopted or are adopting some sort of cloud service, with security services leading the way. Symantec predicts that SMBs will flock to the cloud for their security needs in this year.

Anand Naik, director - technology sales (India & SAARC), Symantec said, "We have focused on driving our business over core technologies and services by way of subscription based or cloud based services to broaden our portfolio. This will enable us to address challenges in mobility, big data or high availability, data management and security challenges."

Although Symantec India is undergoing tumultuous period with regards to its top management, the company's business focus is still intact.

Elaborating on the market scenario, Naik said, "As Indian SMBs consciously move online for business, they are increasingly using the internet to extend market reach and build profitable partnerships. At the same time their usage of multiple devices personal as well as official to access corporate information is also on the rise. This is where Symantec's solutions create relevance."

Symantec India boasts of its solution is to be comprehensive with an end-to-end approach even addressing the back-up and disaster recovery areas. To further promote itself, the company has several programs aimed at spreading awareness about the need for information protection among Indian SMBs.
