SVUM to host mega IT show

The show will be organized in collaboration with Gujarat government, Nasscom and local industry bodies

Saurashtra Vyapar Udyog Mahamandal (SVUM), an organization working for the cause and policies for the interest of the trade and industries in Saurashtra, Kutch region of Gujarat, is gearing up to organize its first ever IT show named ‘Mega IT Show 2012'.

The show is going to be held at Race Course Ground, Rajkot from 25 - 27 May, 2012, with support of Nasscom, Gujarat Informatics, department of science and technology, Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Technological University and Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries Association.

Parag Pejura, president, SVUM said, "This will be our first IT trade fair organized by us in association with Government of Gujarat, Nasscom and local industry bodies. Our key objective is to develop IT industry and utilization of IT in this region of Gujarat."

"We have requested the Government of Gujarat to set up an infocity of IT park model in this region as there is tremendous scope in this region. There are a lot of colleges, IT professionals and upcoming companies. It will be ideal to have an IT park in this region as it will give the right boost for overall development of Saurashtra region." Pejura added.

The organizing committee is expecting more than 40,000 visitors at the show which includes approx 10,000 industrialists, 5,000 business executive, 5,000 general visitors, 5,000 computer IT professionals, 5,000 job fair participants and 10,000 students.

Elaborating more on the event, Pejura said, "The stall booking have already commenced. There are four main domes with 38 stall in each. With this the final total is about 152 stalls in the entire area." He further added that we have 1 lakh invitation cards to be distributed and we are taking help of college students who will hand deliver it across the region."

Apart from this, the IT show will be hosting 6 seminars to be conducted by Nasscom.
