Surat IT Association joins hands with SMC to organize Smart City Techno Fair

The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in association with the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) and South Gujarat Information Technologists Association (SITA) has organized the Smart City Techno Fair. The three day technology event organized from 29st October to 31st October, 2015 aims to bring together the smart city solution providers, implementers and end users under one roof.

Surat City has been shortlisted as one of the 100 Smart Cities in India under the Smart City Mission program of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. The ambitious Smart Cities projects aims to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and give a decent quality of life, clean, sustainable environment and application of Smart Solutions to its citizens.

Paresh Babaria, president of SITA said, “IT association can play a major role in the Smart Cities project. We are helping SMC and SGCCI in the execution of the entire 3 day event. This is not an ordinary IT Expo. It will showcase the cutting edge technology innovations. Several vendors who are executing various Smart Cities projects in the country have agreed to participate on our show.”

Babaria said that vendors like IBM, Microsoft, TCS would participate in the event. He said that there would be around 25 stalls in the fair, which would showcase the Smart City solutions. The Fair will be held at the Science Centre, Surat.
