Leading the eastern pack of distributors, Supertron is eyeing to reach Rs 1,500 crore revenue mark by the end of FY12 and is planning for expansion. The expansion, both in terms of product portfolio and geographical reach is the key strategy that the company is following. And in this aspect, it has recently tied up with Cyberoam as its national distributor (ND) for the NetGenie line of products.

While the company is eying the northern division to lead the strategy including closure and finalization of major deals, Supertron is also focusing on southern borders in the country. South and West India accounts for the largest share at 61% of its total revenue backed by the vigor of new tie-ups. The company is seemingly optimistic about its commitments with Dell, Acer and IBM.

The tie-ups with IT hardware majors such as Dell and Acer for new products helped the company to embark on growth bandwagon. Dell appointed Supertron as a ND for its printer, server, and projector business while Acer appointed Supertron for its new range of netbooks and e-machines. While Dell servers and e-machines continue to contribute to the largest chunk of the revenue, IBM, Seagate, and LG have also contributed significantly to its overall bottomline. These brands, combined together, account for more than 41% of its gross revenue.

"We have planned to strengthen our manpower with quality professionals through strong HR solutions. We are also planning to tie-up with exclusive dealers and retailers who are strong and profitable in the long run," said VK Bhandari, CMD, Supertron, while discussing the future channel plans of the company.

Besides adding new portfolios and the entry in the printer segment, the company has also opted to enter the mobile phone segment with its own brand 'iSuper'. The move follows from the company's already presence in the mobile handset market whereby Supertron is leveraging from the existing handset partner base.
