For

ViewSonic, all of their products come with a seven-days DoA

replacement policy as per POP date. However, the vendor does not

allot categories or sub-categories of DoA in its product range. In

case of any DoA issue or claim, the channel partners have the option

of logging the complaint regarding faulty product through the toll

free number 1800-266-0101 or mail at service@in.viewsonic.com,

and its engineers also visit the customer site, checks the unit and

if found to be fell under the laid down parameters, they declare the

unit as DoA. After full compliance to all the above steps, the

company replaces any faulty unit with a new unit. Unlike most

vendors, in the age of outsourcing, ViewSonic is directly providing

DoA support through their pan-India network of ASPs.

Also,

it is interested to note that ViewSonic has not changed its DoA

policy since its inception with the company claiming 'very well

aware'ness of the terms and conditions of DoA and warranty services.

Also, the company discloses its DoA and warranty policy in written

form at the time of signing trade agreements. For LG and BenQ, no

warranty declarations or policies have been made available for the

end-user of channel partner even on their website and their

distributors prefers to keep mum over the issue. With the much-hyped

'extended warranty scheme' of five years in place in the last

quarter

of FY 10-11 for LG monitors, the sales of LG products has received a

significant boost. However, with the warranty policy and DoA not

available, both the customer as well as the channel partner is at

risk, as a result of non-declaration of warranty policy in public.
