Strontium to set up 10 regional offices in India

Technology, has decided to open 10 regional offices towards
the end of 2011, to strengthen its presence in India. Currently,
Strontium has 4 offices in Delhi, Puducherry, Gujarat and Kolkata.
The new offices will recruit more people on the ground.

On the sidelines of
launching the SSD and gaming memory products in New Delhi, Vivian
Singh, director and co-founder, Strontium Technology, said, "We
are committed to the emerging markets of India, Brazil, Indonesia,
China and South Africa. It is a strategic decision, that we have
taken to expand our footprints in these BIICA countries. We have
earmarked half a million dollar investment on setting up new offices
and spending more on brand promotions and marketing campaign for our
new range of products.”

Moreover, the company will
continue expanding in India and work closely with system integrators
and channel customers in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Largely, these new
offices will be opened in metros and in class-B and C cities.

Vivian also shared,
“Globally, the company has plans to achieve a $300 million revenue.
Currently, in India, the company claims to have 15-17% marketshare in
DRAM and 6-7% marketshare in flash memory and with the new investment
in the pipeline, it has plans to significantly increase the
marketshare in flash memory.”

For new SSD and gaming
memory products, Strontium has not made any changes into its
distribution model. Both regional distributiors Redington and Global
Infonet, including regional distributors will continue to distribute
new line of products. Moreover, the company will soon tie-up with
netbook and desktop OEMs for SSD and white box integrators for gaming
memory.

According to Gaurav
Ganeriwala, branch sales manger-components SBU, Redington India,
“We have recently tied-up with Strontium. The company has a
consistent supply chain. We are excited about the introduction of new
products, as SSD and gaming memory are the future. However, we want
the vendor to enhance its brand positioning.”
