Speed PCs, one more brand to hit the stands

Interpress, a software development company mainly into Internet domain, has formed a joint venture with ExeLAN Networking Technologies to launch a new brand of PC called Speed PC. The new PC would hit the market shortly with four models all falling in the economy category. "We have priced it low just to tap the business opportunities available and our products are on par with the competitors in technology and features," said KK Ponrajaguru, Chief Administrative Officer, Interpress Pvt Ltd.

While funds for the business operations will flow through from Interpress, ExeLAN would bring its market knowledge and technical expertise into the business. "Speed PCs will surely revolutionize the market in price and technology front," said S Premdoss Samson, Chief Executive, ExeLAN Networking Technologies.

Interpress has invested Rs 1 crore in the project and has set-up two assembly line in Pondicherry and Chennai for manufacturing PCs. The company plans to launch the PCs first in South before taking it all India level. "Initially, Tamil Nadu, Bangalore and Pondicherry have been identified for the launch and we will slowly expand in South," said Ponrajaguru.

Speed PCs come in four different configurations such as P4 model, PIII model and two Celeron variants. "We are using best-of-the-breed components and brands in each case and P4 1.6 GHz system would cost only Rs 30,000, while Intel Celeron 500 MHz PC would be available for just Rs 19,500," he said.

The company plans to market the products through its direct team and has set-up 14 branches in Tamil Nadu and one each in Bangalore and Pondicherry. "We have full-fledged team in all the places to take care of the customer support and service issues," he said. Interpress would take the channel route only in the next stage for marketing their PCs.

The company targets educational institutions, corporate sector, government departments and home segment to market their Speed PCs. "We are bundling three attractive software which will benefit both the individuals and traders community," added Ponrajaguru.
