Hyderabad-based SP Software Pvt Ltd, a leading software reseller, is aiming
to cross the threshold mark of Rs 100 crore by 2008. To realize this goal, the
company has worked out some key strategies, which will include opening an office
in the US market, getting into solutions business and expanding the hardware
offerings.

“We will continue with our winning streak in business and try to double the
turnover every year. We did that quite comfortably in the last year and things
are looking up for this season too,” said S Pulla Reddy, Director, SP
Software.

The company's biggest deal over the last year was bagging a project from
Satyam Computer Services for the supply of Microsoft software licenses and
services (MS Office, Windows XP, SQL Server, Exchange Server and LCS Office),
which was worth Rs 95 crore. “The order is spread over four years. Last
fiscal, we supplied goods worth Rs 18 crore only to Satyam,” he mentioned.

Another major development in the last fiscal was hardware business
initiatives started to pay off. The comp-any was focusing only on software till
2003 and diversified into hardware in the year 2004. It signed up with IBM and
Lenova for desktops, laptops, workstations and servers, while providing
networking solution based on D-Link, Cisco and Krone. It also won a couple of
awards from vendors for its best performance in sales. “In the first year
(2005-06), we grossed a revenue of Rs 15 crore and adding hardware products has
given us a solution provider status in the market. Today, we provide end-to-end
enterprise services including the hi-end OFC solution and cam-pus wide
networks,” claimed Reddy.

Recently, the company opened up an office in the US, mainly for its software
development program. SP Software is into development activities from as early as
2000 and brought out more than 40 titles for the home segment, which are usually
bundled with the PC offerings. “We have also developed some applications
mainly for specific industry requirements such as jewelry management software,
school manager, resume manager, technotester and Internet manager, among others.
Our products are used by Satyam, Wipro and Infosys, besides few clients in the
overseas market,” he elaborated.

The Delaware office in the US will play a dual role of marketing the
company's own products, besides pitching in for outsourced (off-shore)
projects-mainly in the area of .Net and Java. “We are getting into IT
services space too, like facility management, remote management, web-based
management and infrastructure management services,” added Reddy.

hardware business contributed Rs 15 crore; packaged-software sales - Rs 22 crore
and finally software development — Rs 1 crore. This year, it has projected
revenue of Rs 75 crore, with hardware grossing Rs 30 crore; packaged-software
