Though Rajguru refused to either confirm or deny this news, speculation is
rife that he may start his own consultancy business
Just two months after Ingram Micro announced its India team-consequent to
the merger with TechPac-it has got the first big jolt. It is reliably learnt
that SP Rajguru, Senior Director (Sales) has put in his papers. July is expected
to be his last month in the organization. However, when contacted, Rajguru
refused to either confirm or deny his departure from the company. His stock
answer was "no comments please".
Speculation is rife that he may start his own consultancy business. Some
other market reports say that he may be joining Prasad Mamidana, his former boss
in Ingram, who is now involved in the overseas operations of Neoteric.
Born on July 21, 1956, Rajguru-popularly known as SPR-has been with the
IT industry for almost 21 years now. Prior to Ingram, he had a long stint with
Unicorp Industries where he was instrumental in establishing Compaq PCs in
India. When Unicorp went down under, he along with his core team of about 25
people established Electronic Resources India Ltd, which later on was renamed
Ingram Micro India Ltd.
When Ingram took over Tech Pacific, it was widely speculated that Rajguru,
who was the COO of Ingram India at that time, would be person heading the merged
entity in India. However, he had to remain content with the sales head position.
Since then sources close to him have often talked about Rajguru's unhappiness
with his role in the merged entity.
