SITA ranks high in

membership growth, social activities, election timing, communication

mode, as well as website updating. Please share any of the two key

factors that helped you to achieve the eighth

position in the IDC survey?

We at SITA are very much

into member growth development. We focus on the overall development

of members, not only in technology up gradation, but also the

development of business and motivation, by various seminars like time

management, and seminars on how to maintain healthy margins in

business.

What were the

initiatives undertaken by your association to increase membership, as

well as keep constituents

engaged?

On an average, we always

try to plan an event every month, so that the members can keep in touch.

What are the challenges

that your association face, and how are you responding to them?

Challenges come to us in

the form of monetary frauds, illegal software issues, payment issues,

vendor and channel issues, service issues, DoA and replacement

issues, LFR issues, IT financing issues, etc. Whenever we receive any

complaint regarding frauds or payment issues we call both the parties

and try to settle them happily. We also use to call vendor

representatives for any issues related to trade and service. We

regularly interact with the vendors to avoid such problems.

South Gujarat region.

As a part of our regular

activity, blood donation and eye donation camp was organized in the

month of July. We are also planning to provide computer training to

few village schools students and donate computers to the school as a

part of charity.

What were the key

achievements for your association in the year 2010?

We have resolved a major

issue of Channel, in terms of illegal software problem, organized a

motivational seminar 'change before its too late' wherein the key

speaker was Aslam Charaniya. We have also conducted an exclusive

software & telecom exhibition.

What is your roadmap

for business acceleration activities and events in your region?

Our flagship event IT EXPO

2011, which is in its 15th year, is planned from Feb 4 to

7, 2011. It is the biggest ever exhibition in entire Gujarat. It is

planned to be organized at the Vanita Vishram Ground, which is the

most popular and most easily reachable ground. Total exhibition area

is 4,20,000 sq ft with more than 180 exhibitors. During this event we

have planned for an exclusive dome named 'enterprise solutions dome',

to showcase the latest technology and products related to enterprise

solution and another dome named 'gamer's zone', wherein the public

can feel live 3D games. We are also arranging for a seminar on

'national e-governance' in association with Gujarat Government during

the IT Expo 2011.
