Sony has officially launched its flagship and much speculated device, Xperia Z at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES).
The device features a 5 inch full HD screen with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with a 13.1 megapixel rear camera and a 2.2 megapixels front facing camera. This is much ahead than the famous Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5.
Xperia Z is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Quad Core processor and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean processor. It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, which is further expandable upto 32 GB with microSD card.
Xperia Z comes with Battery Stamina Mode, which according to the company improves standby time by four times or more by automatically shutting down battery-draining apps whenever the screen is off and starting them again once the screen is back on.
For connectivity, it includes Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. The device also has anti-shatter glass on front and back. The smartphone is water and dust-resistant. According to the company, it can stay submerged in water for 30 minutes.
The device is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2013. However, company has not revealed the price of the phone.
