Sony Electronics has announced its plans to launch Micro Vault, a compact mobile data storage device. This plug-and-play device measures around five centimeters in length and can store date ranging from 16 MB to 128 MB, depending upon the model.
The Micro Vault range comprises of products with storage capacities of 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB and 128 MB. The device supports any window-based file format and the same can be stored and accessed at any given time. "Its unique lightweight feature makes it easy to carry around thus ensuring complete security," says Steven Ng, Manager, Data Media Marketing, Recording Media & Energy Division, Sony Marketing Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
The new Micro Vault also comes with a special feature of encryption. This technique allows users to access information from the Micro Vault ready at the fingertips. The Micro Vault works as a tiny hard disk, which is simple to connect to a laptop or a PC through an USB port.
