Sony India Pvt Ltd has announced that launch of VAIO (Video Audio Integrated
Operation) PCs in India. "The launch of VAIO in India is critical as it
ensures that Indian consumers exp-erience a product that maxi-mizes business
needs and consumer benefits," said, Mohit Parasher, GM , AV\IT division,
Sony India.
He added that VAIO is one of the company's most pre-mium products and
offers Indian consumers access to notebooks that go beyond computing to provide
the innovative technologies, per-sonal entertainment and style needed to make a
notebook a truly mobile companion.
The VAIO PC range in India will comprise of three models, VGN-T16GP, VGN-B55G
and VGN-S26GP. VGN-T16GP featu-res one-touch music and movie functions for both
experts and beginners and is available in frosty silver.
VGN —S26 GP incorporates a screen of 33.78 cm WXGA (1280 x 800) clear
bright wide LCD display and Intel Centrino mobile technology Intel Pen-tium
Processor 715 (1.60 GHz). VGN-B55G features 35.81 cm LCD with full size keyboard
and Intel Centrino mobile tech-nology Intel Pentium Processor 715 (1.60 GHZ) and
weighs 2.3 kg.
A host of Sony's exclusive entertainment software is included in all VAIO
models to further enhance its multi-media capabilities such as PictureGear
Studio, Sonic-Stage, SonicStage Mastering Studio and SonicStage Mas-tering
Studio Audio Filter. With the new VAIO Zone application software, users can
view, listen to and play back music, photos, videos, CDs and DVDs with ease.
Sony India also plans to set up an exclusive sales and service network in the
country with qualified product tech-nicians who will be specially trained to
service VAIO products. The VAIO T is priced at Rs 1.2 lakh, VAIO S at Rs 1.05
lakh and VAIO P at Rs 83,000 and will be available in select retail outlets
including Sony World outlets across the country.
