Sonicwall, a pure play security solutions pro-vider, is all set to storm the
Indian security market with its aggressive channel and marketing strategy. It is
eyeing 25 percent marketshare in security space and revenues to the tune of $
800,000 from India, by the end of this year. The company has sta-rted appointing
chan-nel partners all across the country and is soon going to start call center
to provide support to its Indian customers.
Sonicwall, which started its Indian ope-rations in January this year, has
appointed Mumbai based IT Secure and PCS as its distributors for India and
around 16 channel partners that it calls as ‘Medallian partners’. These
channel partners will do marketing of Sonicwall products, provide technical
sales support and assist resellers.
Secondly, the company is focusing on end-user support and has started a call
center in Bangalore. It is currently pro-viding support to Sonicwall’s US
customers, but from April 1, the call center will also take care of Indian
customers. The call center currently has 42 peo-ple working and an additional 30
will be inducted from April 1.
Antony Chapman, Sales Director (APAC), Sonicwall, said, "We have a whole
range of pro-ducts to tap the Indian security market–right from individuals to
enterprises. These pro-ducts and technologies provide the most com-prehensive
distributed security architecture available today."
Sonicwall is focu-sing more on the SMB seg-ment and has expertise in
verticals like retail, education and heal-thcare and will continue to focus on
these verticals. Sonicwall is a $ 118 million US company, of which APAC
contributes around 12 percent. The company is expecting around 20 percent of
revenues from this region this year.
The company specializes in core techno-logies include firewall, VPN,
wireless, SSL, anti-virus and content filtering, along with security management
solutions.
