Snapdeal.com has launched SafeShip - India's first fulfillment platform for sellers listing their products on Snapdeal.com.
Safeship is a single window service for sellers who want to sell their products online without having to deal with cumbersome activities like warehousing, logistics, liaison with courier companies etc. It provides sellers with a simple email-like interface which processes all their orders.
Sellers can avail this service in two ways. First, where the seller ships the product directly to the customer through Snapdeal's logistics partners and second, where the order is routed through Snapdeal's fulfillment centres and then shipped to the customer. The SafeShip platform auto-optimizes and allocates the best suited logistics company for a seller based on past performance and pricing.
Speaking about the launch of SafeShip, Rohit Bansal, co-founder and COO, Snapdeal.com, said, "While there are hundreds of thousands of businesses who would like to sell nationally to consumers via the online channel, many sellers in India are still hesitant about selling their products online. A major challenge that they face is that most of them do not have the resources or the know-how to fulfill the customer orders received while paying the right price for fulfillment. As a solution to this challenge, we have launched SafeShip - a one-click order fulfillment service for sellers."
With most national, regional and city specific courier companies already integrated, SafeShip claims to provide a hassle-free, low involvement solution for sellers to start shipping their products to consumers across 4000+ towns and cities in India.
It also provides sellers and buyers 100% trackability of their products right from the time the consignment leaves the seller's facility to the time it is delivered to the buyer.
