have become major revenue churner for SMC Networks in India,
contributing over 40 percent of the company's total revenues.
Further, to intensify its presence in the SMB segment, SMC Networks,
a technology provider of Carrier Ethernet Switches, Access IAD,
routers, network management software, SOHO/home wireless products and
enterprise networking products, plans to appoint SMB-centric partners
across the country. The targeted verticals in SMB space includes
broadcast/media, banking, manufacturing and BFSI and with SMB sector
being huge in India, there also exists a lot of competition and price
wars. But, SMC Networks claims to be ready to handle these kind of
pressures. Sarfaraz Dhanji, Head, SMC Networks (India) says, “The
company is highly aggressive on the pricing scheme across its product
range to grow its business in the price-sensitive and competitive
Indian market.”

SMC Networks has about 150 plus channel partners across the country.
The company plans to double the channel base in the coming month
which would further expand to about 500 by the end of this year. “We
are seriously looking for a national distributor with widespread
branch offices, extensive channel base and long-term business plans.
We are also planning to appoint four sub-distributors for North,
South, West and East of India.

networking equipment market in India will grow at a five-year
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent, from $ one billion
in 2008 to $1.7 billion in 2012. The banking, financial services and
insurance (BFSI) industry, together with the public sector, are the
main drivers for enterprise networking expenditure, cornering over 37
percent of the total market.
