Siemens Information Systems Ltd, (SISL), the systems integrator and total solutions provider, has tied up with international media solution providers such as SAP AG, Germany based PPI and Omnixmedia and the US based Ascential Software to provide integrated solutions to the media.
SAP AG provides the ERP solutions designed to meet the advertising, circulation and management needs of media companies. PPI provides the software that integrates, controls and automates the entire print production process. Omnixmedia provides end-to-end solutions for all electronic media with its integrated product family, Mediality. Ascential Software's Media 360 provides the tagging and archiving necessary for the smooth retrieval of software as and when required.
"We have been providing media solutions for the print industry such as the Times of India, Malayalam Manorama, Ananda Bazaar Patrika and the Hindustan Times. Now armed with the various solutions needed for the various media, we would like our success in the printing industry to be repeated in the broadcasting industry and the entire media in the time of convergence. Within 3-4 months, we should sign up our first customer in the broadcasting industry," said A S Viswanathan, Director, SISL.
After successfully providing solutions to the biggies in the print industry, SISL intends to cater to the SME segment within the industry.
SISl intends to generate Rs 10-15 crore from the media industry in India this fiscal. In the last financial year Oct 2000-Sept 2001, SISL has generated Rs 220 crore, a 125 percent growth over last year.
