Siruseri IT Park, spread across 1,000 acres of land and about 30 kms from
Chennai city, is now fully occupied, informed Sudeep Jain, MD, Electronics Corpo-ration
of Tamil Nadu Ltd (ELCOT). ELCOT is the nodal agency for implementing IT in

The major players who have occupied space in Siruseri include Xansa, Hexa-ware
Technologies, Polaris Software Lab Ltd, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Sify and
Syntel. With Siruseri being completely sold out, ELCOT is on the move to exp-and
to another 500 acres of land adjoining Siruseri to set up the Part II of the
Seruseri IT Park. As part of its expan-sion, the government of Tamil Nadu plans
to promote Coim-batore and Hosur besides Chennai as ITeS and BPO destinations.
ELCOT has identified 27 acres of land in Coimbatore for companies to set up
their facilities. Already companies like HSBC and Wipro have shown their
interest in Coimbatore.
Additionally, ELCOT has acquired 300 acres of land as part of the Knowledge
Indu-stry Township, which the government proposes to establish on the Old
Maha-balipuram stretch. Under the KIT project, ELCOT proposes to acquire 5,000
acres of land.
