Betting big on its tablet dream Simmtronics is keen to sell one million tablets in India in 2014. Being the Indian manufacturer of tablets Simmtronics' current market share remains 10%.
Speaking to The DQ Week over email, Smarth Bansal, Brand Manager, Simmtronics wrote, "In 2014 we are targeting a market share of 25% from 10 percent current market share". And how many tablets does it intent to sell? Smarth answers, "we are targeting to sell one million tablets in 2014".
Tablet as too many players who want a piece of the pie so how Simmtronics intents to stick around? "When we see tablet , we hardly see any competition as there are hardly any players which are making tablets in India, writes Smarth. He claims that Simmtronics is the biggest tablet manufacturer in India with a capacity to produce 3,00,000 tablets per month.
It's product portfolio offers the widest range of tablets starting from a 4000 Wi-Fi tablet to a 16000 quad core tablet , from a 2G calling to 3G high speed data transfer tabs which cater to all needs of a consumer. Simmtronics has a corporate tab, a gaming tablet , a slim tab which works like a phone as well.
Commenting on the go-to-market strategy Smarth writes, "Since we have partners like Homeshop 18, Star Cj, Flipkart etc. , we are targeting to sell one million tablets in 2014".
Simmtronics has partnerships with multiple processor manufacturers like Mediatek, All Winner other chip manufacturers, apart from Intel in the tablet space. Owing to its manufacturing unit in India, Smarth writes that these chip manufacturers wants Simmtronics to handle their Indian OEM business also.
