In a report, dated December 13, 2012, The DQ Week had mentioned about the dates of NITO's (North Bengal IT Traders Association) annual expo being finalized. But to everyone's surprise, it has been learnt that the Siliguri based association has postponed this mega event due to some unforeseen circumstances. This annual expo was spread over 4 days, starting from January 3 to 6, 2013.

Speaking to The DQ Week, Sankar Dhar, secretary of NITO, confirmed this news. He stated, "Yes, this is true that we have postponed our annual expo. It is extremely sad that barely a week before the event, we had to take such a decision. Meanwhile, we have conveyed this message to the entire channel partners as well as vendors who were to participate at this exposition."

In the same report, The DQ Week had also reported that another IT fair is being organized by IT Dealers Association of Siliguri (ITDAS) from January 10 to 13, just 4 days post the NITO expo.

And this is one of the main reasons being cited by NITO for this sudden development. "With two back-to-back IT fairs in the city of Siliguri, there was a state of confusion amongst the vendor companies. Even the market sentiments were divided between the two associations. So, in order to avoid any clash between both the parties, we thought of pushing our expo to a later date," added Dhar.

While the next dates are not finalized yet, Dhar pointed out the annual expo might be held in the month of February. In between, talks are also ripe that the two associations of Siliguri might come together and organize a joint fair at a later date.
