Nehru Place based Sham-rel Enterprises inaug-urated its first
Zenith showroom.
Said a very enthusiastic Shama Gupta, Director of the company, "This is the
first Zenith showroom here and we are all prepared to make it popular to the
masses."
Shamrel, which was started in 1998 and earlier dealt with
Zenith, PCS and assembled PCs, is now totally concentrating on their Zenith
showroom and have completely given up the assembled business. Along with the
Zenith products, the sho-wroom will also showcase Microsoft software, as Zenith
computers do not come with software.
Gupta reasoned, "Zenith computer is almost at par with
the assembled ones. But the advantage you get in buying a branded PC is
satisfaction. So there was no point in con-tinuing with the assembled
business."
She also quoted, "Earlier, we were not able to make
satis-factory margins but now, we can give products to dealers at the cost
price. Now we can app-oint our own sub-dealers too, once we are settled in this
sho-wroom. Apart from this, we will provide warranty support to the dealers and
for the after-sale services, we will be the point of contact and will send our
own engineers."
As far as the price is concer-ned, Gupta said, "Undoubtedly, the price
will be competitive." At the moment, the company is targeting to achieve Rs
1 crore sales in a year.
