DQ Week
-Cyber Media Research (CMR), one of the leading research
firms
of the country recently conducted a nationwide survey of 48 IT
channel associations. According to the survey, 8 associations'
position in the ranking chart has significantly dropped this year
too.

size="4">Poonam
Rav, analyst, CMR said, “Survey results have brought gain for many,
but fall for some. The parameters on which the associations were
adjudged include, membership growth, electoral process, awareness
programs, communication, frequency of internal meetings, organizing
exhibitions/trade fair in the region.

size="4">Out
of 48, 8 associations, which have slipped by 3 positions in the
survey failed to meet most of the survey parameters. We hope, with
the survey findings, associations who are trailing this year, will
catch up soon on weak areas.” Associations like Lucknow Computer
Vyapar Mandal (LCVM); Delhi based, North-West Computer Traders
Welfare Association (NWCTWA); Patna based, Bihar IT Traders
Association (BITA); Computer Dealers Association Of Trivandrum
(CDAT); Madurai based, Computer and Media Society (CAMS); Bareilly
Computer Dealers Welfare Association (BCDWA); Jabalpur based,
Mahakaushal Computer Dealers Association and Jalandhar Computer
Dealers Association ( href="https://www.dqweek.com/jcda-to-hold-mega-it-expo-in-december">JCDA)
have demonstrated negative growth in the
survey. Among the low scorers, LCVM's rank has dipped signifi
cantly from previous year's ranking of 38. This year, it got the
48th rank, a decline of 10 positions from last year's ranking. The
result refl ects that it is continuously declining from the chart
since the last 2 years because of its in-activeness. It secured
lowest score on member's feedback as well as in analyst evaluation
part and scored least in all the parameters.

year, BITA has 43rd rank. It declined 3 positions from
last year's ranking. It has secured average score on member's
feedback. SN Prasad, president, BITA said, “We agree to the fact
that the association was slow in awareness programs, social
activities, and website updates. The association needs to work on
effective communication with its members.” Another association
which has registered negative growth is CDAT. This year, it has got
39th rank, decline of 3 positions from last year's ranking.
It has secured low scores on parameters: internal meetings,
exhibition, trade fairs, awareness programs, communication modes and
website updates. From the members' feedback point of view, it has
secured low scores on parameters: effectiveness of event, welfare
activities, effectiveness in resolving issues and quality of support.
Reacting to the survey results, Gokul Govind, president, CDAT said,
“This year the association was inactive as the members were more
concerned about their business operation. We have slipped majorly on
members' meet and IT trade expo, etc. The association has assured
its members to bring back the unity of members and scale up in the
chart next year.” From Delhi region, NWCTWA has slipped 6 spots.
This year, the association has 36th rank. It has secured low scores
on: internal meeting frequency, exhibition/ trade fairs, awareness
programs, social activities and website update. It has been ranked
reasonably well on the member's feedback. Still, it needs to
improve in quality ofsupport and effectiveness of communication.
Speaking to the DQWeek, Aman Gupta, Joint secretary, NWCTWA said,
“Our association conducted very few activities of its event's
calendar. Communications, directory and websites are the major weak
areas where we are looking to improve.”

size="4">In
Tamil Nadu, CAMS has declined from last year's ranking of 28. This
year, it is at 31 position. The survey highlighted that the
association needs to look into issues like website formation,
exhibition/trade fairs, awareness programs and social activities. It
scored less in the analyst evaluation. But it got good member's
feedback. This year, BCDWA is ranked 28th. KK Gupta, president, BCDWA
expressed remorse on the association's position dipping by 3 spots.
Gupta said, “We are active in terms of conducting election and
resolving members' issues. But we do have our weak areas including
no revenue generation related activities for members such as events,
seminars and social activities.” In the survey, it has secured low
scores on: awareness programs, seminars, communication mode and
social activities. Moreover, the rank of Jabalpur based, Mahakaushal
Computer Dealers has dropped from last year 15th to 18th this year.
It needs to improve its scores on parameters: regular updating of
website, wareness programs and seminars.

size="4">The
last on the negative growth chart is Jalandhar based, JCDA. It has
been ranked 16th and dropped by 3 position compared to last year's
study. It has been given low scores on parameters: awareness
program, internal meetings and social activities. Parminder Saini,
