SES Pondy unit gets ISO-14001:2004 certification

SES Technologies' manu­fac­turing operations at Pondi­cherry would focus on the server and desktop busi­nesses, with the unit having received the ISO-14001:2004 for successfully implemen­ting Environ­mental Mana­gement System by AQSR International Inc. The scope includes integration and supply of custom built per­sonal computers and servers for office automation, indus­trial process and personal computing. 

SES Technologies manufac­tures white box servers (which are Intel-validated) and assembled desktops at this unit. The facility adheres to stringent procedures to get quality end products, though SES' pool of engineers remains its main resource. 

The various procedures that are followed at the manufacturing unit are eva­luation of product and inputs, compatibility test and valida­tion, vendor evaluation, ven­dor development and sour­cing, testing 100 percent of the inputs, integrating PCs, burn-in-test for four hours, 100 percent FQC test, billing and dispatch of the material, customer feedback and ana­lysis, corrective and pre­ven­tive action, and manage­ment review.

"The basic motive behind these operations is to supple­ment the systems integrators in terms of their requirement to fulfill an order beyond their own manufacturing capabi­lities. The certification will help us leverage the faith of our channel partners in us," says Ramdas
