Sensex crosses 10,000 mark

For the first time in the twenty year history of the Bombay
Stock Exchange, 30-sensitive index (SENSEX) crosses 10,000 mark to a record
10,002.83, beating the previous record of 9,993.92 points. The rise has been
attributed to the foreign fund purchase or foreign investors betting big on
Indian corporates. The top gainers on the day are Infosys Technologies, ICICI
Ltd, Ranbaxy Labora­tories, ACC, Bajaj Auto, HDFC L&T and Relaince
Industries.
